UNAVIA carries out an intense standardization activity in the Aerospace and Defense Sector operating, directly or indirectly, in international, european and national fields.
UNAVIA provides organizational and technical / specialist support to national, european and international bodies for the standardization activities in the Aerospace and Defense Sector, in many Standardization Contexts (NATO, IAQG, EDA, ASD-STAN, CTM, AIAD, …) and in different Technological Domains (Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, Space, Terminology, …).
UNAVIA also managed, from 2010 to 2014, on the basis of a Convention with UNI, the Technical Commission UNI U92 “Aerospace and Defense Sector”, established as the overcoming and evolution of the former role of Federated Body, operational since 1947.
UNAVIA promotes the broadest participation in its Technical Bodies, in an open and non-discriminatory manner by all the parties involved in the subjects covered by standardization activities, and guarantees the application of the “fundamental principles” expressed by international regulations (consensus, transparency, openness, impartiality, coherence, voluntariness, independence, inclusiveness, relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, …).
In this general framework, UNAVIA also sets itself the objective of carrying out a role of service for standardization activities towards italian industry and government bodies.
